History of creation and combat usage US Tank Destroyer Doctrine The anti-tank doctrine established by the US military called for fast, powerful vehicles able to stop the German blitzkrieg tactics by ambushing the attacking tank forces. This doctrine, known as the “Tank Destroyer Doctrine”, called for anti-tank forces to be held in the reserves anticipating for the massed tank attack that the Germans have been using to run over France. However, the issue with this is that the front-line forces would be left vulnerable without any anti-tank weaponry at hand. The solution was to keep a few anti-tank guns in the front-line as the first defense, while a large reserve of mobile tank destroyers would move in at the location where a German tank breakthrough is happening to ambush and destroy the enemy force. This role led to the desire for a fast vehicle with a powerful gun, armour was not a concern due to the emphasis in speed. While adequate at this role, it was no faster than an ordinary Sherman tank. The M18 Gun Motor Carriage was a response to the problem to provide the tank destroyer force with a very fast tank destroyer. This requirement called for a radical new tank design rather than a derivative of the Medium Tank M4 Sherman. These requirements changed as the war progressed, the first change was to the new and innovative Torsion bar suspension from Buick Motor Division from General Motors and another change was to mount the British QF 6-pounder gun then in use on their Churchill Mark III tanks, the developed prototype vehicle was called the T49 GMC.
It mounted a 75mm howitzer in an open-topped turret. A later version, the M8A1, mounted a 3-inch anti-tank gun and was used in limited numbers, mostly in Europe I believe. In World of Tanks you have a variety of gun options including the 75mm from the Sherman and a 57mm anti-tank gun.
Server stats show it to be completely over-performing in both the hands of baddies and experts. Some Unicums have even denounced it as being akin to giving World of Tanks an Easy Mode. Even after repeatedly nerfed accuracy, magazine size, and health, most people still find it to be overpowered.
Free To Play as a Cannon Fodder I was hoping War Thunder doesn’t fall down the same slippery slope pay-to-win game like World of Tanks, but it seems like they are thinking about money more than gameplay. The game claims to be a “open beta” stage for quite a while now. If you’d do some research, you would find out that it’s part of the money making scheme. Since being an openTitle: Since being an open beta, while taking cash like a fully patched-finished platinum title encourages them to keep the game in a beta-stage and dodge complaints by claiming “hey, it’s a beta”!
If you haven’t figured this out yet, maybe you will in a year or 2. You can carve it in stone so you will remember that I said it first. So, Back to this free-to-play game.
This tank has two characteristic attributes. First, the visible at first glance additional armor plates on the sides and on the turret. Sadly, that armor improves aesthetical value at most. Both side, back, and even front armor will be penetrated by all tier V vehicles, and even some tier IV ones. Weak armor is a great weakness of this tank. Second characteristic attribute of Panzer IV H is its great gun.

Leave a comment Overall Well the first thing to note about my tanking in February is that illness got in the way of a lot of it. Indeed as of writing this I am still uncomfortably ill. However my credit grind for the IS-4 has been less than successful as I have made a few side-purchases. Going forward into March I intend to make a determined effort to start amassing those credits.
One small milestone that has passed this month is that I have fought my eight thousandth battle. The end of March will also mark my second anniversary in World of Tanks, which I am looking forward to.
There has not been very much reason for this, other than generally being busy at home, and busy at work. This has had some benefits. The first has been lots of practice in scout tanking — to admittedly variable success. It does been I am slowly grinding out the Chaffee , as well as getting the crews of the T and both Stuarts further trained 38 games between just those three. I have also managed to get the Ace Tanker on the T

I think if I had the DW2 in proper matches of tier 4’s, I wouldn’t be in such a bad position As you said, I best just take it until I get 10k more xp and go to the VK Normal vehicles in WoT’s will only ever see vehicles two tiers higher then them. Vehicles with scout match making will see vehicles three tiers higher then them except for the chaffee which can get into tier 10 games. Premium vehicles will only see vehicles one tier higher then them.
This is all asumming that your running solo and not platooned with a vehicle of a higher tier or one that gets scout match making. To be slightly more specific if anyone cares, not all scout match making is the same, it’s actually weighted.
Tips on playing heavies for a light tank driver Fastfission posted a topic in Metagame Discussion I’ve played mostly light and medium tanks, and I’ve recently been trying to learn how to play heavy tanks. I’ve also got the IS-2 from the Berlin Quartet, and a Churchill 1 that I played very early on I got really tired of chasing battles around at 20 kph.
I’ve read the guides and watched videos on how to use heavies and I do know generally how to sidescrape and angle, but I’m just not having much luck this last week.

It is an opportunity for us to reflect on the language and ideas that represented each year. So, take a stroll down memory lane to remember all of our past Word of the Year selections. Change It wasn’t trendy , funny, nor was it coined on Twitter , but we thought change told a real story about how our users defined Unlike in , change was no longer a campaign slogan.
But, the term still held a lot of weight. Here’s an excerpt from our Word of the Year announcement in The national debate can arguably be summarized by the question: In the past two years, has there been enough change? Has there been too much? Meanwhile, many Americans continue to face change in their homes, bank accounts and jobs. Only time will tell if the latest wave of change Americans voted for in the midterm elections will result in a negative or positive outcome.
Tergiversate This rare word was chosen to represent because it described so much of the world around us. Tergiversate means “to change repeatedly one’s attitude or opinions with respect to a cause, subject, etc. And so, we named tergiversate the Word of the Year.
We understand that you have plenty more premium tanks to dish out, is it possible to have 2 different battles such as premium battle and random battle and keeping premium tanks strictly to premium maps unless they are in platoon to improve the overall game quality. Every game balance change we implement is based on the statistics we gather and process daily. The only advantage to a premium tank is the economic benefits players get from them, and this is where we come back to the core basics of our free2play model — premium stuff accelerates your progress through the game.

Matchmaking rule changes have shifted around Tiers II and III somewhat, you do not have to go very far at all to find someone struggling. Why is Tier IV the pressure point however? Well there are several factors and game design decisions that contribute to Tier IV being the pressure point it is. Scout tanks Take two tanks, the Covenanter and the Panzer 38 nA. Both appear to be Tier IV light tanks, and on the basis of the information in-game there is no suggestion of any particular difference between the two.
However, there is one critical difference, and that difference is one of the rocks that most commonly wrecks a potential World of Tanks career. The Panzer 38 nA is a scout tank, a tank can can see Tier VIII tanks in battle, and a tank who is not expecting to do damage as its primary role. In other words a tank whose game design is totally different to anything that the new player has encountered up to that point. Remember as well it is easily possible to get into that scout tank with considerably less than games played.
